Commercial Associate Broker

Arlington/Roe, a family-owned property/casualty wholesaler and managing general agency since 1964, has an outstanding opportunity for a Commercial Associate Broker within our Brokerage team. This position has the ability to work remotely.

Summary Job Statement:

The purpose of this position is to support a Broker with building a book of commercial brokerage business. Typically, there is a mixture of new and renewal accounts. This position requires communication and working within a team environment.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of P&C insurance experience required
  • Highly motivated and willing to take on challenges
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational & multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload & pivot quickly as it changes
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary
  • Ability to understand the client’s needs and have knowledge of the risk profiles associated

Essential Functions:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty well
  • Support Broker in renewal retention & new business growth while also growing new relationships
  • Build and maintain a positive internal & external reputation.
  • Prepare quality submissions to submit for quoting
  • Provide support to a Broker(s) by working on new business, renewals, endorsements, and all other processes that occur during a policy’s life cycle
  • Data entry into multiple internet-based systems (primarily for quoting)
  • Receive and respond to calls/requests concerning problems, delays, discrepancies, etc. in a manner that is acceptable to all parties
  • Communicate effectively with both our retail & carrier partners via phone, email, and in person at agency visits and conferences
  • Negotiate the best terms and coverages available with accessible markets while properly communicating with all producers regarding submissions and decisions for new or renewal business in a timely manner
  • Create loss summaries and loss analysis exhibits
  • Assists with training of assistant brokers as needed to strengthen and grow the team
  • Performs other duties as assigned
